Our Story
Bio-Tropical Products Company Ltd was founded in 1984 by two friends with a shared passion for organic citrus farming. More than three decades later, it stands as Ghana's first Fairtrade-certified citrus company, based in the Central Region of Ghana.
We cultivate 300 acres of organic citrus on our own plantation and partner with 59 smallholder organic farmers across a further 200 acres. Our oranges and lemons are grown without synthetic chemicals and processed into fresh citrus and organic dried peels — quarter-cut, tea-cut, whole slices, powdered, and candied — for the global cosmetics, tea, and food industries.
From cultivation to processing and export, we control every step of the supply chain. We turn organic farm waste into fuel for our boilers, prioritise employment for young women, and continuously train our staff and out-grower farmers to meet international standards — exporting to Germany, the USA, and beyond.
